BARIA’S Association of Uganda is a registered non-profit, fisher-led and community-rooted organization committed to improving the safety, wellbeing and resilience of fishing and lakeside communities across Lake Victoria and other inland water bodies in Uganda. We work alongside fishing communities, government agencies, development partners and other stakeholders to reduce drowning, promote water safety, strengthen community resilience and improve livelihoods through practical, community-based solutions. Our work focuses on empowering communities through training, awareness, partnerships and advocacy, helping ensure that every person who depends on Uganda’s waters can live and work more safely.
